So the cd is not faulty. I gave it back to my friend and she'll take it in somewhere, i'm giving up on it. Thanks for all the help. That's reasonable Please update this thread, when the answer is known.

I try a ide 60 gb drive. Same thing happen. I thing it might be my sata dvd drive. My xp disk doesn't have sp2 or sp3. To test my computer i loaded a freind vista and it loaded ok.
